You wont believe how spoiled you are with the supenratural complete season one dvd. Not only do we get hysterical Bloopers, Commentaries, Documentarys from the crew, Still gallery and Concept Art.. We get loads, loads LOADS more. There's some hidden stuff, even without the DVD Rom. So if you don't have a DVD ROM, you still won't be left out!
First of all theres deleted scenes ramdomized throughout the disc's. They let you know with a scissor icon. When you open Disc 6, wich features the finale, you get all the special feature goodies we've been told about. First on the list is the Tales from the Edge of Darkness, which really goes into how the show came about, talks about the first draft which Kripke says was a Journalist driving around, how the Impala came to be, and loads of other little interesting goodies.
Next on the list is one of my favorites. A Day in the Life of Jared & Jensen... which.. of course, opens with them goofing off. "You'll see all the stuff we do, do." "dude.. you said dodo.." "I did say dodo!" "thats hilarious!" The featurette opens with Jared and Jensen picking up enough food to feed a family of 5, and of cause all too familiar trailers. Then again all trailers look the same.
The next little tidbit we get is Jensen killing time by playing darts.. with knives, instead... and sucking.. untill the last shot. Convienient?then its off to make up time, and we'll see jared again when he's "all pretty!"... If you call Jareds candy obsession and the slow more clip of him stuffing his face with candy, pretty... then ok. One of my other favorite little segments is them getting revenged apon by the crew, with snowballs as they run off the set. One thing yummier on the set then both those two.. is the entire platter of CHOCOLATE they get! fans? start sending different candy!Of course.. whats a documentary of those two, wihtout a closing Joke? "I'm still jared padalecki, and i'm still jensen ackles." complete with goofy faces. Honestly? I don't know how the crew gets any work done with those two every day!
Following the Day of, is the Gag Reel, or, Bloopers. These will make you just crack up. Theres a lot... and I mean a lot, of giggling. I dont want to spoil that, but I defiantely have a few favorites. Jensen laying on jareds lap, Stripper preists from Chip & Dale, "erauysdfhsdgf Kelly Clarkson!", the Holiday Greetings, "Holy Crap!" Jeffrey Dean Morgan cracking up in Dead mans Blood, the Benders Saber!, "Bring Jesus Christ back?", "Snot just comin outta my nose!" Blooper of the holiday greeting Blooper. "Dude, Your not Sam!" and a hilarious reinactment of the car crash. go back to the menu, and Jensens EYES highlight yellow, A'la demon Posession-like. Click on them, and you get some never before seen, test runs of the shows intro, which look quite cool.
Even the commentary by the boys for "phantom traveler" is silly! If your like me, who finds commentaries somewhat intersting, this one is even more intersting! Its even funnier when one tries to be serious.. the other starts fake snoring in the background. When they recored this commentary, they havent seen the episode for quite a few months. So, if you have money to spend, definately... get this dvd! Oh yes...the story is the best of all supernatural TV series...really the best. I just got hook.
THE STORY....
The viewers will take a journey into the dark world of the unexplained that will deliver the terror of films like "The Ring" and "The Grudge." Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki, "Gilmore Girls") has done his best to escape his family's eerie history. Unlike his older brother Dean (Jensen Ackles, "Smallville"), Sam rejected their father's obsessive quest to uncover the evil forces that claimed the life of the boys's mother, Mary (guest star Samantha Smith). Putting as much distance as possible between himself and his family, Sam left home right after high school and went away to college. His new life includes a beautiful and loving girlfriend, Jessica (guest star Adrianne Palicki), and plans to enter law school. Dean, however, took a very different path, following their father, John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, "Weeds"), into the "family business." When Dean arrives on Sam's doorstep with the news that their father has vanished, Sam has no choice but to put his personal plans on hold and join Dean on the road.
After four years apart, the reunited brothers are getting to know one another again, and their familiar sibling rivalries are never far from the surface. Despite the strange childhood they shared, these boys turned out to have very different views of the world. Dean still idolizes John and, although he often appears cocky and fearless, in reality he is haunted by memories of his mother's violent death. Sam was too young to remember the awful night that Mary died and has never fully accepted the frightening path his father and brother have followed.
Bound by tragedy and blood to their dangerous, other-worldly mission, the brothers travel from the Colorado wilderness to Nebraska farmlands and on to isolated Wisconsin lakes, encountering creatures that most people believe only exist in folklore, superstition and nightmares - the terrifying Bloody Mary, the brutal Native American beast known as the Wendigo, the man with a hook who haunts Lovers' Lanes and the dark Phantom Travelers who portend a violent plane crash. As they follow the clues in their father's journal, the brothers realize that he has passed on to them all the knowledge he accumulated during the past 20 years. What they can't understand is why he has vanished and left them to carry on without him. Taking up the mantle of their father's crusade, Dean and Sam hunt down the evil that preys upon the innocent in the darkest corners of America.
